A Tribute to Berny Dohrmann
Nov 26, 2023I am most excited to share about a great inspiration in my life, Berny Dohrmann.
The above audio is from one of our earliest calls back in July of 2018.
Berny was born in 1948 and passed in 2020. From 2018 when I met Berny and became his personal assistant to his passing in July 2020, I was deeply touched by his mentorship and fatherly love. He was one of the people who believed in me before I believed in myself, and the principles he taught me have forever changed my life.
Berny shared incredible ideas about our interconnected nature as human beings and believed we are all one. From that perspective, he saw competition as a mind virus that existed out of a false perception of separation from one another. He taught that we cooperate with each other and have integrity with our word. Inviting us to ask one another "how can I serve you?" He created an environment in which everyone acted generously, intentionally focusing on helping one another, and working together to create their dreams in the world.
Truly no words can describe the greatness exhibited by Berny in his life, and his Celebration of Life featured countless speeches praising him for how positively he impacted everyone's life. While Berny taught me much about business, ranging from topics of raising capital, marketing, leadership, legal compliance, and operations - the greatest teachings we're the ones about how we can work together as people and tap more of our own personal potential.
A story from having Berny as my mentor - one time I told him that Tony Robbins was coming to Toronto to do a 1 day event. As I knew Berny mentored Tony directly I asked if there was some chance for me to be able to meet him when he came to Canada. He said he'd text him for me and let me know what he said. To my surprise Tony invited me to come to the event as his guest, and even offered to meet me backstage after his 4 hour talk. After sharing my life story with Tony and expressing my desire to learn to help people create change and transformation in their lives he offered me a free $5,000 USD ticket to Date with Destiny, his most intensive 5 day long event where I could see him work with people through their problems live in Palm Beach, Florida. Additionally, he granted me private access to study and become certified as a life coach through his training company with world renowned psychologist Chloe Madanes, Robbins-Madanes Training. It was through my training at RMT that I developed many of my skills and abilities in life transformation coaching.
Berny Dohrmann is forever an inspiration, and I will do my best to carry on his legacy of cooperation and compassion for one another. Berny helped everyone he possibly could in life, and it is my wish to do the same. I share his vision of a magical world in which people live with love in their hearts.
